New Photography is not just about overcoming the use of film, but it’s about connetting to the internet, to “you” and its new needs, and therefore to the society.

The series “Just a souvenir” is a macro collection of thousands of mysterious
images, produced by the first camera phones. They are characterized by a new way of taking photographs – by the use of technology and the social networks-, and uploaded online by anonymous authors.

This selection goes beyond the reason why an image was taken and shared, or the motivation of those who find that same image and decide to upload it to the web, perhaps without asking permission to do so.

The result is a long journey dedicated to the in-depth analysis of the image.
An archive as delirium, in the absurd attempt to tame what cannot be tamed.

“This immense encyclopedia of amateur photographic practices appears as the reflection of a rising esthetics as well as a new fate for photography, the foundation of a singular language resting on the image.
In front of the invasion of our optical field, the photographer acts as if, refusing the accumulation, he let express his sole gaze, clear-sighted, capable of finding the poetry in a compulsive flow of visual data.” (Julia Rajacic)
